Traditional tools

INTRODUCTION

Traditional tools are hand-crafted implements that have been used across cultures and ages for various practical tasks. These tools are characterized by their manual operation, reliance on basic materials, and often a deep connection to the craft and skills of the people who use them. Here’s an overview of traditional tools and their uses :

1. SICKLE(हसिया)

 A sickle is a handheld agricultural tool with a curved blade which helps to cut a grass . The curve allows the user to cut multiple stalks with each pass, making the harvesting process quicker and more effective. It helps to harvest grains, grass etc. It have  sharp   blade and handle designed for cutting the grasses.  The blade is usually made of steel or iron, which is hardened to maintain sharpness. 



2. PLOUGH(हलो)

 The plough is a traditional tool which helps to dig the field by the help of ox by which we plant maize , wheat , grain etc.  They are essential for preparing large fields for crops. It have a blade on the low level by which the land plough . It helps farmer to plant wheat , maize easily .Ploughing helps manage soil structure, control weeds, and integrate organic matter into the soil.



 


3. JATO(जाँतो)

 Jato is also known as grinder. It is made by the stone and traditional tool used like wood which helps to make the grip to grind grains . It   is made by two flat stones which helps to grind the grains .  Commonly used for grinding spices, herbs, and small quantities of grains or seeds. Used for grinding grains into flour. The grains are fed between the stones, and as the stones are rotated, the grains are ground into a fine powder.





4. SPADES(कोदालो)

 Spades is a tool which is used in digging the land . It have sharp blade in the top which is attached with long wood handle . It makes easy to dig soil . Spades are commonly used for soil preparation, planting, digging holes, and moving soil or compost. They are essential tools for both amateur gardeners and professional landscapers. the spade is a fundamental tool with a rich history and a broad range of applications. Its design and functionality make it indispensable for various tasks in gardening, landscaping, construction, and agriculture.
